One of the applications of the Book Collection and Sharing for Development (BSC4D) concept is currently being undertaken in an Integrated Special Needs Children’s Secondary School in Malaysia – the Ppki SMK Putra Perdana, Puchong, with the theme of Peace between all. The initiative has been branded as the BOOKS FOR PEACE INITIATIVE 2017-2020. The initiative has engaged Special Needs Children (Downs syndrome) with their counterparts at SMK Putra Perdana to become Book Champions to collect books in order to replenish their school and other school libraries, with surplus books being shared with other not-for-profit organizations in Malaysia and abroad. It is a youth led initiative using Youth-Adult Partnership (Y-AP) guidance approach and practice, advised by Prof. Madya Dr. Lateef-Krauss Abdullah a regional expert on Y-AP.
