About Us
The Society for the Advancement of Education and Book Donation International (SAEBD) is the coordinating body of all the SAEBD National Chapters. The international cooperation coordinating committee is comprised of National Chapter Presidents’, International Secretariat members and advisors. The national chapters operate with the guiding rules of the SAEBD International in compliance with laws, bi-laws and statutory frameworks governing not-for-profit or non-governmental organisations in respective nations. SAEBD-ICCC aims to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).
The SAEBD ICCC is guided by a Vision, Mission and Objectives that influence the National chapters and are as follows:
Vision
“The Development of Educated, Responsible and Responsive communities worldwide that support and enable Human Capital Development”
Mission
“To facilitate the provision of education and educational material to people worldwide irrespective of creed, colour, gender, nationality to enhance literacy worldwide by promoting the principle of ‘sharing and caring’ for poverty eradication, empowerment, human capital development and nation-building.”
Objectives
- To facilitate understanding of how through sharing and giving, lives can be changed.
- To ensure that books and reading materials can be shared among people around the world, particularly between those in developed, developing and fragile countries.
- To promote a pro-poor initiative through “People to People” solidarity for education and development.
- To build strategic partnerships between organisations that want to enable an effective and
- efficient way of supporting human capital development through the work of National Country Chapters.
- To encourage people, particularly youth and children, to understand the importance of sharing with others to build a caring world
